Phoenix Publishing & Media Group(PPMG), which is from Chinese Jiangsu Province. Located in China’s east coastal area, Jiangsu benefits from its long history. It is famous for its dynamic economy and prosperous culture。Publishers in Jiangsu are influential as well. Since the late 1980s, PPMG has been keeping cooperation with more than one hundred nations and regions, with whose publishers we have published more than 1000 titles through copyright trade. Enjoying a leading status in China, our group achieved a sales value of 7.671 billion Yuan in 2005.

According to ancient Chinese legends, reborn from fire, phoenix is not only a mascot, but also a symbol for immeasurable vitality and creativity. Perhaps it’s a coincidence that the publishing industry in China is also undergoing a historic period of renewal. In order to be oriented to this new epoch of polarization, recombination and great evolution, PPMG has formulated six strategies for the coming five years. The first strategy is to promote the mechanism of enterprise operation. We plan to make the group a modern cultural enterprise and develop some of our affiliates into public companies. The second strategy is content renovation, i.e., to achieve some new breakthrough in educational publishing, general publishing and academic publishing. The third strategy is market expansion. Increasing our sales in nationwide market will be our next goal. The fourth is the strategy of digitalization. We will gradually realize digitalization in the process of editing and develop complete digital publishing as well as establish a platform of custom digital service. The fifth is the strategy of talents. We plan to train more professional and more competitive teams. And the sixth strategy focuses on international cooperation so that we can take a more active part in global cultural exchange projects.

Since the end of last year, PPMG have already established new strategic cooperation with many famous publishing companies in Canada, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and so on. Recently, through our cooperation with Pace University, Sino-America Publishing Research Center has been founded. We have also decided to establish Confucius Institutes in the United States.
